During the Isha prayer, the Rakat are 4 Sunnah, 4 Fard, 2 Sunnah, 2 Nafl, and 3 Witr and 2 Nafl. It is the longest out of all other five but the Isha prayer benefits are extremely big. One is usually tired after the activities of the entire day when it is time to offer the Isha prayer which is why the benefit is much enlarged in Allah’s view.

Isha Prayer Benefits

Historical Isha Prayer Benefits

Historically speaking, the importance of Isha Prayer and the Isha prayer benefits are in great number and the evidence can be found from the Holy Quran and through the words of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself. Abu Hurairah (RA) while narrating the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has said that:

“The most difficult salah for the Munafiqeen is isha and fajr. Had they known the rewards for them they would have attended them even if they had to crawl on their knees.”(Bukhari)

This clearly explains how important the Isha prayer is and on what kind of pedestal Isha prayer is made to sit on in front of the eyes of a practicing Muslim.

It is also very much necessary to perform this ritual of offering the Isha prayer (for men) in a congregation. There are many historical words and sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions which emphasizes the importance of offering the Isha prayer in congregation and making the most out of the Isha prayer benefits throughout your life as a practicing Muslim.

“One who performs Isha prayer in congregation is as if he has performed salat for the rest of the night”. (Muslim)

Islam urges each and every Muslim to try and be better since the last day so we should all try and be punctual not just in gaining the Isha prayer benefits but also offering all other 4 prayers on time and making sure that we do not lose track of the prayers just because we get really engrossed in worldly matters. Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrates again:

“if it were not to be a hardship on the Ummah, I would have ordered them to delay the Esha Salah until a third or half of the night had passed.” (Tirmidhi)

so we can well imagine the Isha prayer benefits if the Isha prayer is offered with full and true devotion and that too on time. Ablution and cleanliness are also very important so we should make sure that in order to gain full fledge Isha prayers benefits we have performed the ritual of ablution and are considered “paak” in an Islamic way.

Keeping all of these Isha prayer benefits in mind, we should all try to be better Muslims every day and bring punctuality to our Namaz as that is the key to ultimate success.
